The boys of Top Gear have dropped a Mitsubishi Evo Lancer engine, capable of producing 400 cubic-horsepower into the chassis of a classic black London cab. With the Mitsubishi engine, the London cab can hit 0 - 60 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds?3.8 seconds to be exact. The modified taxi and has a 'selectable centre differential,' giving the driver the ability to do donuts and even fast drifting.
The ever so mysterious Stig will be driving the taxi and the car will be one of the major components to the Top Gear Live 2011 event in November.
The event, beginning next month is a continuous spectacle, which will give Top Gear enthusiasts and Mitsubishi fans the chance to meet with the three hosts, and see real world testing of luxury automobiles. Onlookers even get the option to hop into an automobile for a speedy test drive.
"The all-new live show format has an indoor track where you'll see much supercar hoonage, stars being shoved into reasonably priced cars, Jeremy, James and Richard blowing things up and, of course, more Stigcab idiocy."1
If you have already made travel plans to the United Kingdom for November, we at Puente Hills Mitsubishi recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible. And for those contemplating making the trip to the UK for the event, Top Gear Live begins November 11th and ends November 13th.
